Do people choose houses or do houses choose them? Either way, when Daisy and Rupert stumbled upon one particular cottage, it appealed to them in a way that no house had before. Certain houses cast a spell, and Bridge Cottage is one of them. Approached by a footbridge over a babbling chalk stream, and huddled, smothered in roses, under its heavy thatched roof, its charm is unmistakeable. Dating back to the 1600s it creaks with history and character outside and in; wonky beams criss-cross the ceilings, tiny windows peep from beneath the thatch, and ancient walls bulge thick and sturdy.
